Writing my own scripts has helped me develop a stronger understanding of my work as an actor. I’ve now written two feature screenplays, numerous shorts, and my first play.

Writing for stage
and screen

Stage

My first stage play is a one-man show called The Quality Of Mercy. The play examines the circumstances and motivations behind the crimes of Dr Harold Shipman, the most prolific serial killer in modern history.

The Quality Of Mercy ran in autumn 2022 at The Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton, garnering three Off West End Award nominations, including Best Solo Performance (shortlisted), Best New Play and Best Director. It will be performed in the Grand Theatre at The Space at Surgeons Hall from 7-26 August 2023 as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Screen

My first produced short film was An Unkind Word, starring Robert Daws and Susan Penhaligon. Inspired by true events, it tells the story of a rumpled MP in his early 60s who finds himself thrust into the public eye when a website that rates MPs by their attractiveness hits the news.

An Unkind Word played in 13 film festivals worldwide, winning an Indie Spirit Award at Idyllwyld International Festival Of Cinema and a Bronze Remi at Worldfest Houston.
